Albrecht Ready For 2012 Golden Rose Glory

September 14th, 2012

Peter Snowden is confident Albrecht can overcome his bad draw to win the $1 million Golden Rose at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse tomorrow September 15, 2012.

Albrecht has drawn barrier 10 of 10 for the 2012 Golden Rose.

Snowden will also saddle up the talented Epaulette for the race, however, has greater faith in Albrecht’s chances.

“He’s my pick of the two,” Snowden said.

“He’s really been aimed at this race. It’s just unfortunate he’s drawn a bad gate.

“Luck in running will play a big part for him.”

The Redoute’s Choice colt has won two of his three race starts and has earned more than $100,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

Owned by Sheikh Mohammed, the three-year-old’s most recent win came in the Group 3 Up & Coming Stakes at Warwick Racecourse on August 25, 2012.

Snowden feels that the Up & Coming Stakes win was not a one off and wouldn’t be surprised if Alrecht replicated the performance in tomorrow’s 2012 Golden Rose.

“I think he’s right up to this,” he said.

“There was no fluke about his win the other day.

“He was very dominant and he’s done very well since.”

Albrecht’s only defeat came when third in the $85,000 Inglis Bonus Handicap for three-year-olds on August 4 at Canterbury racecourse.
